@biem/ui

Introduction

A shared interface system for Cortex and every Biem product.

@biem/ui brings the visual language of Biem into one dependable system. It combines typography, color, motion and accessible components so that every interface begins with the same understanding of hierarchy, interaction and tone. A product team can focus on the decision a screen must support instead of redefining how that screen should look and behave.

Retail software carries dense and continuously changing information. Stock moves, people act, revenue shifts, and the meaning of a signal depends on the context around it. The interface must make these relationships understandable without flattening their complexity: calm surfaces create orientation, clear states reveal what requires attention, and consistent interactions let users act on an insight.

The system turns those requirements into a shared vocabulary for Cortex and every Biem product. Its defaults are deliberate enough to create coherence, while its components remain composable enough for dashboards, conversations and operational workflows. Consistency therefore comes from a common foundation rather than from making every interface look the same.

From foundation to composition

Foundations establish color, typography, spacing and motion. Components translate those decisions into accessible, reusable interactions. Compositions bring the parts together around a real task, preserving the same visual language while adapting it to the context in which users work.

This documentation follows the same direction. It begins with the individual parts and the decisions behind them, then shows how they work together in real retail contexts. Each page explains enough to use the system, extend it and keep its language consistent across every product.
